About the role
Being a Product Development Engineer at LAB Motion Systems, is a very versatile and challenging job where you can fully deploy your passion for mechatronics. After all, you will take the lead in our projects, covering the design, mechanics, electronics, and control of high precision motion stages. You do this in close collaboration with the Application Engineering Team, the R&D Team and the Production Team. Calculations, simulations, and prototyping are also part of your job. Your communication skills are on point for qualitative and friendly contact with both customers and suppliers.
Responsibilities
- You fulfill a technical role in our product development projects, in which you will create designs using 3D CAD software
- You are responsible for engineering calculations and simulations for your assigned projects
- You work hands-on during the assembly of the first prototypes
- You take part in metrological testing and validation of the machines you design and build
- You are responsible for the development and optimization of existing and new products
- You support your teamlead, from the first customer contacts, up to and including the delivery of the prototypes, the validation phase and the ramp-up phase towards a secured series production.
- You detect opportunities to improve our products, processes, and working methods. To this end, you work on improvement proposals, develop technical solutions, and implement them.
Skills
You have at least a Master’s degree in (Electro)mechanics
You have between 2 and 6 years of experience in machine building (preferably in the semicon industry)
You have a background in mechatronics, and control systems engineering
You have experience with working with industrial drives like ACS, ELMO, and Aerotech (preferred but not mandatory)
You have demonstrated experience in professional CAD software (Inventor preferred but not mandatory)
You have hands-on experience with C/C++, Python, MATLAB, SIMULINK, and LabVIEW (preferred but not mandatory)
You have demonstrable knowledge and/or experience in the field of (precision) machine design, machine construction and calculations/simulations (structural, thermal, FEA, and analytical calculations)
You are a fast learner who is very hands-on and a creative team player.
You are a good communicator.
You are result oriented.
You excel in taking ownership of your assignments. You have proficiency in English is mandatory. Knowledge of Dutch is plus.
